We are so impressed with these children and their fantastic writing. They have worked hard to include a range of punctuation, conjunctions, adjectives and adverbs.
On Thursday we were visited by Miss Blackburn from the RNLI. We learnt all about the important work that they do and what we should do if we ever got into trouble in the sea. We listened to a story and dressed up in the special clothing that they wear to keep them warm and dry. She showed us all of the special equipment that they use and told us why it is all so important.
The children had a fantastic time today at Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre. They learnt all about what life would have been like for a fisherman at sea and how the fishermen would keep themselves warm. They also got the chance to go aboard a real life trawler. They explored the museum, dressed up in the clothes that they saw and visited the gift shop!
It was fantastic to see all of the children back and looking so smart today! We had a fantastic first day in Year 2 with a visit from Captain Greybeard! We learnt a little bit about life at sea, sang sea shanties and took part in a treasure hunt solving clues hidden around the school grounds. The children had a brilliant time and it was lovely to see the smiles on their faces!
